Wallmapu ex situ: Territorio expandido

2022

Wallmapu ex situ: Territorio expandido is an extension of the virtual territory of Wallmapu ex situ into a hybrid stage format.

A tank, a historical book, an extinct animal and a plantation tree – represented by four experts from Wallmapu, Chile and Switzerland – meet for a series of conversations in digital space. These beings are translated and embodied on the theater stage by four performers who act as mediators between virtual and analog space and between the audience and the actors. The topics of each conference are chosen by the audience. The discussions and their simultaneous translations on stage thus always react to the current situation, current events and the audience in the space, and thus develop differently every evening.

Parallel to each performance, a livestream in German and Spanish is offered via the web platform, whereby the livestream functions as a virtual stage for the project and is not identical to the performance on the stage in the theater space.
