Nina Willimann is a an artist in the field of performing arts, she was born and grew up in Switzerland. Nina studied at the Schule für Gestaltung Bern/Biel (CH) TIP / Bewegungs-Art in Freiburg i. Brsg.(D) and at the Zurich University of the Arts (CH). Nina often works in interdisciplinary and intercultural contexts. Her works deal with identity as an imaginary construction in connection with terms and concepts such as nation, history, culture and gender and their real effects on the individual's body. Nina collaborates with artists from different disciplinary backgrounds, amongst others with the choreographer Jessica Huber (CH), the writer Mamadou Mahmoud N'Dongo (F/SE), and the artists Celia & Nathalie Sidler (CH). Since 2015 Nina regularly collaborates with the Japanese artist Mayumi Arai in context- and sitespecific works in Asia and Europe. Nina performed amongst others for Cie Marielle Pinsard (CH), Asphaltpiloten (CH/D) and Alexandra Pirici (RO). In 2014 she was invited by Reso for the Choreo Lab in the Südpol Lucerne (CH) and in 2015 by Pro Helvetia for camping in the Center national de la danse CND Paris (F) as well as the Séminaire en Avignon (F).
